To record a lecture, log in to Collab, select your course, select Lecture Capture in the left navigation bar, select Launch for questions and support, contact and then select Create > Record a New Session, then select Open Panopto.You may be prompted to change the security settings on your device to allow Panopto to access your camera and microphone.Go to your Downloads folder and open the Panopto Installer application, then Install Panopto on your device.Select the Launch for questions and support, contact This will open a UVA-branded window with your name at the top right.Select Lecture Capture from your tool menu in Collab.
Add Panopto at least one day before you intend to use it. Go to Site Settings > Manage Tools, select Lecture Capture (formerly Panopto), and then press Continue and Finish. You can add the tool to your site from within your Collab site. Add the Panopto Lecture Capture tool to your Collab course site.Panopto has the capacity to record using multiple cameras and microphones.Use a pair of headphones and/or standalone microphone to reduce background noise and improve overall sound quality.

Instructors can record lectures, attach slides, and edit recordings. Panopto is a tool within Collab for lecture capture.
