To our knowledge there are three vehicles running with this kit, outside of the two Minitec completed. I've documented a significant amount of the build and have pics. Should anyone choose to do this swap, djmatix and I have formed our own support group of two 😃 and we'd be happy to help anyone interested in joining it. The expectation from the supplier is: You know what you're doing. Minitec also offers a "plug and play" wire harness, which I also purchased, It works, but it too requires careful inspection and cross referencing of pin outs and color codes. The parts are there, but it's up to you to figure out how they should fit and modify as necessary. The Minitec kit has the BASIC parts for the swap, there are no directions and all but the J2K adapter plate (J-series engine to K-series transmission adapter) required modification (cutting, filing, machining). However, for those who think this looks like a plug and play and the Minitec is a complete kit, let me set realistic expectations: This swap requires significant mechanical experience, a wide selection of tools, fabrication skills, a solid knowledge of electric circuits, the ability to read schematics & pin outs, access to a machine shop and welder (tig for aluminum). The Minitec kit was the catalyst for this project and could not have been accomplished without it. I ordered the kit and brought the car home in September of '18. It was plain a lot of money had spent on wear items (brakes, tires, battery) shortly before being sidelined, but sitting and corrosion had taken a toll on much of it. The car was clean, solid and appeared well cared for, with minor scuffs and bumps and about 160k miles. I've included pics of the first time I saw it. Well, it's a PITA to put a clutch in and he had other projects, so it sat (it was off the road around September of 2012, but he had it for a couple years). A long time Honda mechanic and close friend had picked up a one owner, non running (no clutch) Element at auction with a goal of flipping it. I was lucky to locate a vehicle quickly: An '03 EX 5 speed AWD.

I saw an opportunity to correct my issues.
#J2K ADAPTER MANUAL#
They were:įast forward to mid 2018 when Minitec announced a V6 swap kit for an '03-'06 manual transmission Element. I vowed that if those things could be resolved, I'd own another. Loved many aspects of the car, but there were five things I was unhappy with. I owned a green '03 EX AWD for seven years and ~75k miles, selling it in 2010.
